Patriot Park

Patriot Park is a large park located across the street from the Ron Rosner YMCA in Spotsylvania County. It has 6 baseball diamonds, 2 basketball courts, a 3.1 mile fitness trail, 6 multi-purpose fields, and a large playground. The playground is down a hill near all of the soccer fields. Not only does Patriot Park have all the usual bells and whistles, it also has a giant amphitheater where concerts are held during the summer!

Address: 5710 Smith Station Road Fredericksburg, VA 22407

This is the park my kids ask to go to. The playground is beautiful and so fun. We call it the Paw Patrol park as the main playground resembles the Lookout Tower from Paw Patrol.

If you see the playground behind the Ron Rosner YMCA, drive passed it and turn down the hill leading to the soccer fields. You will see the fun playground. There’s a three-story tower with slides, swings, a toddler area, a large rope swing, and a merry-go-round.

Restrooms: There are restrooms located near the baseball fields, basketball courts, and amphitheater.

Parking: There is plenty of parking.

Trails: You can access the trails from the amphitheater.

Amphitheater: You can access the summer concert schedule HERE.

Ron Rosner YMCA Playground

There is a playground adjacent to the Ron Rosner YMCA. This playground used to be our go-to playground when my older kids were younger. Now it is mainly used for the YMCA’s preschools and after school programs. It is usually closed to the public (even members) M-F, 6am to 6pm. This is due to SACC and preschool licensing regulations. We were there recently (April 2023), and it is rundown in spots and most of the swings are missing. The restrooms are usually locked as well.

Did you know that many of the sports fields at Patriot Park are dedicated to several courageous local heroes in honor of their service and sacrifice in the US military? You can find more details HERE.
