Massaponax Creek Trail is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Fredericksburg, Virginia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail roughly follows a well kept disc golf course so keep your eyes open for players. The trail is primarily used for walking and nature trips and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Recently, we participated in a fun scavenger hunt on this trail. The kids had a great time looking for leprechauns. (3/16/2021) We hope the Spotsylvania Parks and Rec will continue to host events like this.
We love this trail because it is mostly wooded. It’s the perfect spot to walk on a hot day. And, after a short hike, the kids can burn the rest of their energy at Loriella Park which is adjacent to the trail.
