We headed to Ni River Reservoir on a Saturday. It was very crowded. I would suggest going on a Monday or Tuesday. Remember this reservoir is closed Wed.-Fri. There was a party going on at the shelter when we arrived and several boaters and fishers. It was hard to find parking. We ended up parking along the fence near the check-in booth and ended up walking around for a short time. It was too crowded to really enjoy ourselves. Next time we’ll be visiting on a Monday or Tuesday.

Spotsylvania’s other reservoir is Hunting Run.
