Belvedere Plantation

Fall fun at Belvedere Plantation: You’ll find a variety of fall activities here plus a huge pumpkin patch.

Belvedere Plantation is a popular place for people in the Fredericksburg area to not only purchase pumpkins but to participate in so much more. They really do offer more than most farms in the area, but that does come at a cost. They are one of the more expensive farms in the area. They have a corn maze, slides, zip-lines, pedal cars, a fun barn with rope swings, pillow jumping, pig races, wagon rides, animals, and so much more. There are a few activities that have an additional cost. These include Paint a Pumpkin (includes the pumpkin to paint), Barnyard Blasters (super powered nerf war), Scarecrow Super Slide, and Paint the Pest and Pumpkin Plunkin (both paintball arcades). Belvedere offers a Farm Fun Adventure Card to save on these activities.

If you’re looking for pumpkins, Belvedere has a selection of pre-picked ones. But if you want to pick your own straight from the vine, that is an option as well. For this, you’ll ride a tractor-drawn wagon out to the pumpkin fields. Pumpkins were 0.75¢ a lb or $34.95 for all you can carry.

My kids love visiting during the Fall Finale-the first weekend in November. Most of the fall activities are available except for pumpkin picking. A favorite activity during this time, though, is the Pumpkin Pounding. For this, you’ll go out to the pumpkin fields and smash the leftover pumpkins. This is a great opportunity to let out all your frustrations. My kids think it is great fun.

Belvedere has several food options. They have a grill that serves pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and more. They offer different drinks and desserts. You may be interested in trying their kettle corn or apple cider donuts

This year their Fall Harvest Festival 2022 runs September 17 – November 6, 2022. They are closed on Mondays (except for Columbus Day), Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Their hours vary from 10 am – 10 pm depending on weekday and weekend visits.

The entire farm is cashless past Admissions. They accept cash at Admissions only, but the animal feeders in the Olde Barnyard still take quarters. It’s best to make your reservations online as Admissions Tickets have an additional $5.00 fee when purchased at the gate. All Online Tickets have a nonrefundable Pass Processing Fee of $1.00 per ticket. Ticket prices are cheaper in September and go up in price each month. Weekends cost more than weekdays. Ticket prices are the same for everyone except for children 2 and under. They are free. They do not offer a military discount. Last year if you showed your ID at the gate, they gave out a free “bakery treat” coupon.

Dogs are welcome, but you’ll have to pay a $9.95 Canine Companion fee. You can reserve one online. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.

Plan for weekend crowds, as Belvedere is a well-loved venue for fall fun in the Fredericksburg area! You’ll have to wait in line for popular activities and for food.

Belvedere is always trying to up their game. This year (like last year) they are having spectacular firework shows EVERY Saturday in October. The fireworks generally started around 8:15 pm. There are also campfires you can reserve to roast your own hotdogs and s’mores!

NEW this year is the Silo Ropes Adventure. It is included in a regular admission.

If you’re looking to get more involved at Belvedere, you can apply for a seasonal job. Two of my teens have worked here. Last year Belvedere even hired 14 year olds. One nice perk of working is that you’ll get free passes to Belvedere.

Farm hours vary during the fall season and sometimes they close because of weather. You’ll want to follow Belvedere Plantation on social media to get the most current information.

Additional Information:

  • Parking lot is in a grass field
  • Everything is stroller friendly
  • Bring your own snacks and food. This will save you a lot of money.
  • On busy days, you will have to wait in long lines especially if they are short staffed.
  • The swine races are really fun. If you’re chosen to help, you can win a prize. Make sure to check the schedule. Seats fill up quickly.
  • Even with the lights the corn is quite thick this year; you might want to bring a flashlight if you’re visiting at night.
